Netphone: Android Phone by Smart Communications
I’ve been so busy this past few weeks and I needed to leave blogging for a while. That’s the reason why I had only 2 posts from August 1 ’til yesterday. And now, I guess, I’m back to blogging.
So here’s my “first” blog after my resurrection as blogger. Just discovered this from a post of one of my friends in Facebook.
Smart has introduced a new phone called Netphone. If I am not mistaken this is the second smart phone that is introduced or marketed by Smart under its name. Remember the Smart Amazing Phone and its second version, if I’m not mistaken, the Voyager?

So what’s with Netphone? Personally speaking I found this device as interesting as my new cellphone, Blackberry Curve 9300.
Let me enumerate some of the features that this phone boasts of:
- It’s an Android phone, running on Froyo version 2.2 and features 3 “multis” – multi-touch, multi-tasking, multi-media.
- Netphone is fully integrated with the Smart Wireless Network meaning you’ll always be the first to know about the hottest offers, promos and services from Smart. Literally speaking there’s a menu or certain part of the phone where you can see this information which also shows load balance details or your next billing due date.
- You can chat with your friends on Yahoo Messenger and Facebook with its built-in Netphone Messenger. Of course, if you have friends who are also using Netphone you can add them in your Netphone Messenger. You can also send “virtual” kiss and hugs from the messenger.
- It gives the biggest phonebook ever. Why biggest? Because it stores contacts on the web. So you won’t be running out of memory worrying where to save your next contact.
- Candy bar style and full touch keypad.
- 3.5 inche screen with 800×480 pixels WVGA resolution.
- Expandable memory.
- 3.2MP camera with auto-focus.
- 3G, WIFI, and GPS-enabled.
If you’re thinking that this gadget will surely burn a hole in your pocket, then, you’re wrong. Surprisingly, this gadget is priced at P9,900 only! Reasonable? I think so because a Smartphone with the aforesaid features and specifications normally costs P20,000 and above.
And lastly, who is the endorser for this new product of Smart? Well, it’s just the 2011 FHM’s sexiest woman – Sam Pinto.

Do you have Smart Netphone? May I ask you to write your comments here about this gadget or your experiences in using this smart phone?
