Linsanity. It’s the term paying tribute to the newest NBA sensation – JEREMY LIN.

I will be posting some info about Jeremy Lin at the end of this blog post but for now let me show you the Christian Nerd High Five which Jeremy Lin and his teammate Landry Fields used to do before games. It’s a handshake ritual which shows Jeremy Lin as a professing Christian like Tim Tebow of National Football League.

Some facts about Jeremy Lin:

• Since 1976, no one has scored more points – 136 – in his first five starts than Jeremy Lin. That’s more than Jordan. More than LeBron.
• He is a Harvard University graduate and an Asian American. Before he arrived, no one in the league is from Harvard and no one is Asian American.
• Harvard has produced four NBA players, and until Lin, none since 1950s.
• His jersey no. is 17 (seventeen) and is now the top online seller in the NBA.
• Lin’s name was the third most searched term on Baidu.com, China’s leading search engine.
• He is a devout Evangelical Christian.

Romi Garduce is on his way to Indonesia to continue his quest of becoming the first Filipino to reach the 7 Summits – seven highest mountains in the seven continents.

Garduce, who became popular in 2006 when he reached the summit of Mt. Everest, continues his quest by climbing  4,884-meter Carstenz Pyramid in Indonesia. He is two summits behind before reaching the “7 Summits” record in mountaineering.

Here are the six summits that Romi Garduce has successfully climbed:

By December, Garduce will finish his record of reaching the 7 Summits by attempting to climb Vinson Massif, a 4,892-meter mountain situated at the Antarctic Peninsula in harsh below zero temperature.

You might be confused because there are 8 summits mentioned and actually 6 geographical continents on the earth. Yes there are 8 summits and 6 geographical continents. But why 6 continents only all we know is that we have 7 continents. Geographically speaking, Europe is just a peninsula of Eurasia continental platform and is not a geographical continent. The six geographic continents are: Africa, Antarctica, Australia, Eurasia, South America and North America. However, Europe is considered continent on a political perspective.

Dallas Maverick is in. Miami Heat is in. And we’re waiting for the next two teams (between Memphis Grizzlies vs. Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls vs. Atlanta Hawks) that will complete the Eastern and Western NBA Finals 2011.

I would admit that I’m a big fan of Lakers vs. Celtics in the finals. And I can’t accept the fact that my two teams had been thrown out from the conference’s finals. Not to mention that Lakers didn’t even win a single game against Dallas Maverick. What happened to you guys?!

Anyway, that’s life. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Let me just play a guessing game for this NBA finals. Who do you think will win the Eastern and Western Conferences and what team will bring home the FINALS’ trophy?

For me, it would be Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat in the Conferences Finals with the latter to be crowned as 2010-2011 NBA Season champion. We’ll see then.

Who’s your bet?

Though I wasn’t able to watch the first 4 rounds of Pacman-Mosley fight this afternoon, I was glad to see the fight ended in favor of my kababayan, Pacquiao. However, the fight between these two warriors was quite boring.

Before I continue with this post, let me congratulate Congressman Manny Pacquiao for a job well done. Once again, you brought pride to our country and to your kababayan. God bless you, more and more!

After earning $20 million from this fight, who’s next? We all love to see Pacquiao-Mayweather to be the next fight. But for now, that fight between Pacman and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has no clear possibility, so let’s ignore it for the meantime.  Nonetheless, Promoter Bob Arum confirmed that the intention was for Pacquiao to be back in the ring before the end of 2011, with Juan Manuel Marquez a possible opponent. Timothy Bradley and Zab Judah are also shortlisted for the next fight against Manny Pacquiao.

Scientists at Qatar University had made it known to the public that they have developed artificial clouds to provide shade from the “scourging heat” of the sun at the 2022 World Cup.

The technology is made up of lightweight and strong carbon fiber material and the interior is injected with helium gas to make it float.

The cost of this technology is estimated to be $500,000 each.

Costly? Yes, but if ever happen, this cool technology will help cool the stadium from 50 degree celsius heat.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is a popular rapper, film producer, actor and entrepreneur and is a friend and business partner of Mayweather.

What’s my reaction on this? Well, everybody has the right to express their own opinion. 50 Cent is entitled for that comment. I don’t care about him. In the first place, I don’t know him. But should I know him before and buying his records, upon reading these messages of him to Manny Pacquiao, I will not buy his albums anymore.

Philippines’ soccer team, Azkals, showed no mercy to Mongolia as the game ended with 2-to-nothing score.

This game is part of the AFC Challenge Cup and was held at Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City today.

The next game between Azkals and Mongolia will be held in Mongolia on March 17.  The second match was supposed to happen on February 16 but due to the cold weather in Mongolia, it has been moved to March 17.

It’s official, it would be Mosley-Pacquiao on 2011. Mosley even announced his upcoming fight in his Twitter account:

Since Pacquiao’s fight with Mayweather seems not happening anymore, possible opponents laid out for the pound-for-pound king was Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Sergio Martinez and Andre Berto.  However, Mosley was deemed as the most marketable among those options and therefore, can generate the most amount of buzz and money for the pay-per-view event that’s why he was picked.

The Pacquio vs Mosley fight will be held on May 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on May 7, 2011.
