The Bureau of Internal Revenue or BIR has recently released the Top 500 Individual and Non-Individual Taxpayers for Tax Year 2010. And one of the highlights of this statistics is the inclusion of the names of Philippine celebrities who made a remarkable contribution to the Philippine Government in terms of tax payments.

It’s been quite a while since Sunshine Corazon, Charice’s name in Glee, last appeared in this musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox in the United States.

For our Filipino readers, we all know Marvin Agustin. But for those who are not, Marvin Agustin is a celebrity here in the Philippines. He is an actor. Read more about Marvin Agustin in Wikipedia as I am not going to blog about his life on TV and movie.

However, perhaps only few knows that he is a restaurateur. Yes, he owns and manages, not only one but seven restaurants, namely:

5. John & Yoko
6. Mr. Kurosawa
7. Johnny Chow

Actually he does not manages those restaurants alone, he has two partners. One of this two partners of him is the name behind Red Crab, Claw Daddy, Heaven n’ Egg, Flying Pig and Crustasia.

This 2011, Marvin Agustin together with his partner which I mentioned above who owns group of restaurants also, opened a Red Crab branch in Shanghai, China.

Perhaps you are asking what his credentials are when he entered the restaurant business.  He graduated from the International School of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management. And before he started show business, he worked as waiter and bartender at Tia Maria’s restaurant bar in Alabang, Muntilupa. He was promoted, then, to be part of marketing team of Tia Maria’s.

Manny Pacquiao placed 8th only (113th overall)?  And Willie Revillame placed 1st?  Does Willie earn more than the winnings of Manny in a year?  Willie’s earnings are eight times bigger than Pacman?  Hmmm….

I thought it was true that Alicia Keys is dead already when I read a post from a blog a couple of hours ago.  When I hit the link for more details of the news, I found out that Alicia Keys was indeed DEAD.   She was DIGITALLY DEAD from December 1 and brought back to “life” on December 7 (I guess).  Other famous celebrities who were once digitally dead are Bronson Pellletier, Daphne Guiness, Elijah Wood, Janelle Monae, Jay Sean, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Timberlake, David Lachapelle, Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kimberly Cole, Lady Gaga, Ryan Seacrest, Serena Williams, Swizz Beatz, The Buried Life, Usher and Lenny Kravitz. Being digitally dead means no Twitter or Facebook updates from any of them.

This campaign was initiated by Keep A Child Alive organization  wherein world’s most followed celebrity Tweeters are sacrificing their digital lives to help those who are suffering from HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.  See Digital Death website for more details

What about the campaign?  The aim of the campaign is to raise $1,000,000, of course from donations, and when it is reached, everyone will be back online and updating their Twitter and Facebook accounts once again.  The fans just have to buy their lives back.
