This Blog

This blog site was inspired by a blog of a motivational speaker, Francis Kong, entitled IKTA Syndrome.  Well, IKTA stands for “I Know That Already”.  Most of the time when we encountered something that we have already heard or read or watched before, we tend to critic, comment or not listen at all to this “something” and unconsciously say, “I know that already!”.  This process closes our mind from learning anything new.

According to Mr. Kong, IKTA should be countered by BAIDI (But Am I Doing It?).  Yes, we have already heard or read it before but have we applied it?  Are we already good at it?  Learning has to start with having a beginner”s mind – Shosin is the Japanese term.  Author Shunryu Suzuki explains that: “This does not mean a closed mind, but actually an empty mind and a ready mind. If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything.  It is open to everything.  In the beginner’s mind, there are many possibilities; in the expert’s mind there are few.”  Learning is one thing.  Application is another.

This is the reason of the birth of this blog.  To relive those ideas that we have already learned before but forgotten to apply in our lives and to bring new ideas for learning and application.
